In this post, you will find my first impressions and Benchmarks for Storage Servers from Inception Hosting. These storage VPS’es are located in Phoenix, USA at IOFlood datacenter. These are hard disk based storage servers.

Update January 2022 The 512 MB Server remains in operation, you can check its real time performance by clicking here.
Below you will find the Benchmarks for Storage Servers from Inception Hosting.
Background
I had signed up for two storage server plans by Inception Hosting during Black Friday 2020 event. One plan was a 512 GB storage server, the other was a 1 TB plan. Both these servers were in Phoenix, USA. I did not realize at the time of signing up that these VPS’es were in the IOFlood datacenter in Phoenix, USA.
In other words, there was little redundancy – same provider, same upstream, network, and so on. By Nov-2021, I had discontinued the 1 TB plan. The smaller plan was discontinued in April 2022.
The servers were fine- as the benchmarks below will show, and the service was excellent. But the location and the network caused huge latency issues for me from Bengaluru.

Now, we take a look at the 1 TB storage server. This was a purchasing mistake on my part- two services in the same Datacenter with the same provider do not offer much in terms of redundancy. That too, when the network speeds I get are not the greatest.
