S3 compatible storage is basically a cloud storage option that adheres to the Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) API standards. Consequently, any S3 compatible storage provider can be used with any S3-compatible application, without any compatibility issues. S3, on the other hand, is a well-known cloud storage service that provides a plethora of features, such as scalability, durability, and availability. However, S3 can be a bit costly for some users. There are a few reasons why you might want to use S3 compatible storage. First, it can be more affordable than S3. Second, it can offer more flexibility, as you are not limited to using Amazon Web Services. Third, it can be a good option if you need to use an S3-compatible application.
