Each morning, I leave a small piece of chicken for the kite birds that originally lived in the woods around my apartment building. Buddy of course does not like it. Here is a video that shows our daily ritual.

Buddy’s Breakfast Routine: The Daily Feeding Frenzy
In our house here in North Bengaluru, a peculiar ritual has been unfolding every morning for past several weeks. I have started leaving a small piece of chicken on the ledge of the kitchen window. My aim is to leave some food for the Kites- the original inhabitants of this area. The kites, sensing an opportunity, swoop in to claim their daily treat. However, their joy is short-lived, as my boy Buddy is hot on their tails.
As the kites descend towards the window ledge,Buddy springs into action. With a fierce bark, he chases the kites, sending them scattering. The kites, flapping their wings, create a whirlwind of feathers and squawks. I observe the daily ritual from a distance and I can’t help but chuckle at the spectacle.
Despite the chaos, the kites have grown accustomed to this routine. They’ve learned to dodge and weave, snatching the chicken morsel in their powerful claws before making a hasty retreat. Buddy, however, remains undeterred, even though he is constrained by the confined space in the apartment.
As the sun rises over Bengaluru, this peculiar dance continues, a small example of an enduring bond between humans, animals, and the city’s avian inhabitants.

हमारे घर में उत्तर बेंगलुरु में, पिछले कुछ हफ्तों से हर सुबह एक विचित्र अनुष्ठान हो रहा है। मैंने रसोई की खिड़की की बाहरी सतह पर एक छोटा टुकड़ा चिकन रखना शुरू कर दिया है। मेरा उद्देश्य इस इलाके के मूल निवासियों – चील के लिए कुछ भोजन छोड़ना है। चील इस अवसर का लाभ उठाते हैं , हालांकि, बडी उनके पीछे लगा रहता है।
