MyKitaab Podcast is getting ready for launch!

I am excited to announce that the MyKitaab Podcast is (almost) ready to launch!

When my wife and I were trying to get my novel NRI:Now, Returned to India translated into Hindi and Marathi, we found it very difficult to find the right translator, editor and publisher. We realized that there are many authors who are faced with a similar dilemma. This is how MyKitaab Podcast was born. We envision it as a means to connect authors with readers and booklovers who prefer to read in Indian languages. Three times a week, we will interview authors, editors, translators and publishers, who will  share their insights on the market for books in India.

When we talk about book publishing in India, one must also note that there are atleast six or seven languages that are spoken by over 50 million people. That is the population of six or seven times the size of the population of France. As the podcast matures,  every month we will learn about one of the six languages and help authors understand how to sell their books in these languages.

Revised Launch Plan

The original plan was to launch the podcast in November 2015, but we decided to launch in January 2016 instead. The reason for doing so was that I was working in a job that required me to travel 15 to 20 days a month, which would severely limit my ability to record the show, follow up with guests, market the podcast, among other tasks needed for the podcast to survive and thrive. To give the time this initiative would need to make it a worthwhile effort, I told my wife that I would need to do this as a full time activity. She agreed.

So here we are: starting January 2016, I will work full time in the world of book writing and MyKitaab. But we are getting too far ahead of ourselves. In a series of posts, I will mention how the podcast evolved from concept to reality.
The beta site is up, and at this time, we are inviting users to sign up as a beta reviewer.
